Privacy Policy
FedRetireCheck ("FedRetireCheck," "we," "us," or "our") provides educational decision-support software for federal employees. We are committed to collecting as little personal information as possible and protecting what we do collect. This policy explains what we gather, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Email address — if you join our email list or reserve a report, so we can contact you about the service.
- Retirement inputs you provide — values such as your service computation date, high-3 average, age, coverage type, and leave balances, used solely to generate your report. We do not ask for your Social Security number, and we do not require you to upload employment documents such as SF-50s.
- Payment information — when you reserve or purchase a report, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction details, but we never receive or store your full card number.
- Privacy-friendly analytics — we use Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and does not collect personally identifiable information or track you across other websites. It tells us aggregate things like which pages are visited and which buttons are clicked, not who you are.
How we use your information
- To generate and deliver your retirement readiness report.
- To respond to your questions and provide support.
- To send the emails or guides you signed up for (you can unsubscribe any time).
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not use your retirement inputs for advertising.
Service providers we rely on
We share limited information only with vendors that help us run the service, each under their own privacy terms:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Plausible Analytics — cookie-free, privacy-focused website analytics
- Our email provider — to send the emails you requested
- Our web host — to serve the website
Data retention and your choices
- Access or deletion: you can ask us what information we hold about you and request that we delete it. Email support@fedretirecheck.com.
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Minimal retention: we keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the service or as required by law, then delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we design to minimize what we hold and to protect it appropriately.
Children
FedRetireCheck is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.
